Adventures through webcasting - Carlos F

I've joined in three weeks and four days ago... Coming here every night seems a habit, allmost an addiction, although I firmly believe it is a healthy one... Back to when I started, I was eager to learn always having in mind how could I take all of this into my lessons...

Three weeks later, I have learned quite a while, even those strange terms like audio adaptor, meter, volume, etc... Even if some still sound strange, they are more familiar now than before... I do pay more attention to details when recording than before and I believe that partly I know what I'm doing when I choose this or that option...

Then, the availabilibity of those who are extremely helpful and that is perhaps one of the most touching aspects: solidarity and eternal patience. In a time where, in Portugal, teaching   tends to be looked at as a competitive, almost entreprise's point of view, with which I completely disagree as we are preparing human beings and not things, you tend to be more and more alone, you share what will look good, because even your salary will depend on that... These are difficult times for the teaching profession in Portugal, so I do tend to feel surprised when I find so much solidarity and willingness to help... Down here, we are not used to it anymore... So Thank you Lisa, Thank you Jeff, James and all the others I have encountered...

It looks like a goodbye but it isn't... I'll be back after these two weeks out although I didn't find in the calendar meetings previewed for September...

So, thank you for having me and for helping broadcasting in a more aware way

May you all have very productive weeks

Carlos Ferreira
