Skpye audio weak for telephone recording

Hi all,

I'm using Windows - I think I have the Audio Repeater, Audacity, and Skype settings as directed - I was able to record 2-way telephony with Skype lady -  my volume is OK - the Skype volume is very low - I looked in the Volume control and the Control panel and think I have internal Mic all the way up - also in audacity and in Skype... any suggestions?

Thanks!!

Suzanne

New Headset

I just got a new USB headset microphone with separate inputs.  I have not had luck recording both ends of a Skype call since I got it.... Wondering if I have it hooked up wrong.  I've got the mic hooked to the USB and the audio to my laptop jack.  I've attached a photo to show my setup.  Is this correct? Thanks, Pam

The wrong headphones?

I bought myself some new headphones, I use a Logitech USB micro & separate headphones to replace my "no name" set which are quite good, but tend to fall off frequently.

The new headphones, though, are disappointingly soft, and I can't turn the volume any higher. Have I bought headphones designed for listening to music etc. but not for use with a PC?

Specs:

 Sennheiser HD 201

Frequency response: 21 - 18,000 Hz

Max. SPL at 1kHz  108 dB

THD at 1 kHz < 0.7%

Impedence  24 thingies

Streaming music

Now that I have streamed twice, once with my mentor Jose, and once publically, last night, I'm getting over-enthusiastic and want to do MORE.   :-)  I'd like to include music in the next webcast. How do I do this? The music rights will not be a problem - I shall use a CD I made myself with friends. But, the technical question: how do I feed music into the webast as well as speech?

The search for a superb microphone

I want to do some recording  to put online (poems, not mine - other people's). Although I've got a reasonably expensive microphone (Logitech USB) and use Audacity for the recording, I'm not really contented with the results.

The following couple of lines ("All the world's a stage") I've recorded:

1.  With my Olympus voice recorder and then converted to MP3.
2.  Is a recording done with Logitech micro and Audacity (and also converted to mp3).

Wouldn't you agree that the Olympus recording (1) is better?

mp3 conversion with AUDACITY

Friends at the Academy,

Would you like to save my PC or me disappearing through an upper window? Problem: Audacity refuses to convert aup files to mp3. Yes. I have got Lame. Have now deinstalled and installed Audacity and Lame four times. Audacity claims to have converted, but no mp3 device, including Audacity itelf, recognises what is generated. What would YOU do?
