Introduction: I work in the NYCDOE school system as a Technology Coach/Special Education-Emotionally Distrubed.
I have been in this position for three years and I feel like our program has become stagnant.
Until recently there was little accountabilty for the teachers to use Technology in the classroom and integrated into lessons, now with a new
leader in building the staff is being held accountable, which has sparked interest amongs the faculty My school is a 1:1 school where students and staff have a
laptop to use daily.
In addition to this I am pursuing my leadership certification at Teachers College and I anticipate finishing the program July 31, 2009. Here is my leadership credo I was asked to create. It is subject to change.
As a leader I am committed to providing an open door policy for my team members, and to be empathetic and flexible when lending an ear. I will take responsibility for my actions and the actions of my team when we are faced with adversity. I will hold integrity to the highest regard, respect my commitments to others and support their successes. I will honor my responsibilities in a timely manner and do my best to be fair to take into consideration all counts and not just one viewpoint when making decisions that affect the community as a whole
