Teachers4TELL - Getting Ready for the Real Show!

Well, yesterday was a blast! Once again the intrepid Webcasters-to-Be gang got together just for a little practice, but it simply became a whole show! Yes, with guests, participants, change of streamers on the go, all kinds of topics...In the Webhead/Edtechtalk spirit, very organic. Streaming just started to flow and voices were pretty loud and active. My settings to record with Audacity and to stream in Sandbox A were the same as last time. In the middle of the show, I stopped streaming and Illya picked it up. Successful transition. Laughs! I'm sure Illya felt the responsibility of having Jeff as a guest of our show! One week before I couldn't imagine to be skyping Jeff who wanted to be there with us. We even had listeners, Linda Parisi and Susan Ettenheim got to Sandbox A.
It seems that Webcasting is made of WooHoo moments. Sometimes, a bit frustrating when you cannot troubleshoot some technical glitches like when Erika joined us and her computer was causing echo. We'd love to spend more time with her and also learn how to solve these little details. When you start feeling at ease, the bars have been raised and you need to take another step further in the learning curve. Streaming is always pushing us into learning something new. One talk is never like the other! We've been practicing and when we get together all sorts of topics start popping up. Amazing! Addictive!
So, the highlights of the informal show:
  • Talking about streaming details
  • Cris Costa talking about the challenges of her new job in UK; how she started it; the resistance she faced in the beginning; the little steps she's taking to help teachers integrate technology into learning
  • Jeff's appearance as a guest; kicking the streaming; how to set up a f2f conference, stream and have audience participation
  • Bee Dieu's presentation at the Merlot Conference
  • Dennis Oliver summarizing in 30 seconds what Cristina took 20 minutes to say! Women and men's different brain sides working!
  • Never have so many channels in the Webcastacademy been busy with different groups of interns
  • Teachers4TELL (Technology-Enhanced Language Learning) show - Invitation for Illya to join the group and a little chat about the idea behind the get-together; discussion about extending Teachers4TELL to other languages;Worldbridges with different cultural perspectives

Bridging the different cultural tones into one stream is simply an enriching, ineffable experience that you'll only feel once you see the big waves on your screen! Let the show begin.

Happy Birthday Dennis!

On the 15th of August I will be flying to Boca Raton with my family to see my parents...will be there til the 30th.  I would love to meet you...although I know the Keys are quite a distance from Boca, we might try to meet halfway.  What do you think?

You are ready! for webcasting now.

Well Carla,

It is a good thing to be with friends and especially when you are able to help others, which you certainly have, it is good. I think like you that it helps to have been a lurker and listener, and great that it all comes together.

Nice job, keep going and keep encouraging others.

The Bridges!

Oh, Illya, it happens to me when I forget to turn on my mic. It still happens! Anyway this show was so much fun to listen to, you have many guests, interviews and running the show. And Dennis, now I see that you are interested in joining the group! YEAH. Webheads rule. Webcasters  Rock! This group is so much fun!

BrazilBridges Strikes Again!

You all amaze me! Way to go!!

Bridging the Educators Worlds

Dear Durff,

This was more than BrazilBridges! It was WorldBridges! There were a Brazilian, a Portuguese, Americans living in different parts of this vast planet! Jeff is really bridging these educators' potential and giving voice to so many interesting people who have a lot to say about education.

...and now you will spread this fun!

Yes! - and now it's your job to help spread this kind of learning and help us all learn how to bring this enthusiasm and energy to our students and classes! Great job!
